The Five By Two Studio works closely with artists to discover, refine, and capture their voice and their soul with minimum cost, and maximum effort. There are dozens of incredible studios all around us, and we look up to them as leaders and mentors. But for many bands money and time are at a premium, so we offer our time, talent, experience and equipment to all levels of artists looking to record.
Services Offered
Pre-production
Working with the artists to bring ideas to life, explore creative options, and experience life in the studio before going all-in, our pre-production services help the artist shape their voice and their ideas, and capture them for demos and references for future use in the studio or to share with others.
Engineering
Capturing live sound in-studio using the appropriate gear and tools to record in digital form the artist’s creation. Our studio uses high-quality professional studio equipment and is run by competent engineers who are constantly innovating the art of live sound capture.
Mixing
The art of striking the right balance in bringing together all of the individual streams captured during the engineering process, mixing ensures the final product will be balanced, leveled for volume, and enhanced with the appropriate dynamics for an overall high-quality, stereophonic sound.
Mastering
The final stage in the audio process, mastering ensures the overall product is ready for mass distribution, including radio, streaming, digital, and vinyl. Mastering refines all transitions between songs and packages the final product into files for the target mediums on which the artist will distribute the final product.
Creative Content
The studio can work with the artist to create supplemental content for the final product, including the creation of audio interludes to add between songs, audio and video teasers for the marketing and promotion of the final product, album design and layout, and all of the other little things that go into finalizing the production to change it from “a collection of songs” to a true work of art ready for the world.
Re-mixing
For artists who have captured stems in other studios and would like to experience a new dynamic to their music, the studio can work with these audio files and produce a completely different vibe that matches better with the artist’s new or original intent, or can re-mix existing files to clean up mistakes or adjust the overall sound.
